| thanks... since i stopped playing pro 4 years ago i have been building this offense on note-paper and in spiral notebooks and such from different offenses and putting in things from great brilliant coaches and putting my spin on it...
like my play call system comes from mike leach i bought his materials from one of his UA coaches conferences (which wasnt cheap) and adopted his method.. as he is a "get-by" type of guy doesnt like complicated things so... wanting to use a complex system but make it high school friendly i went with his play call setup... i mean when you read my play names it tells everyone every single move they will make.. there is no guessing anywhere...
and if you pay attention i teach "methods" instead of plays... this way i can design custom plays all the time constantly... and nothing changes for the players... they dont have to learn a gazillion plays, just learn the methods and then listen to the play name...
also b/c its diverse i never have to change it based on what athletes i have @ the HS... i can tiple option, run power game, pass spread, zone reads... i mean its ALL there even flexbone and fly offense style and if any of you have ever seen spinner offense... its in there too...
SEE IF YOU CAN FOLLOW THE BALL IN THE SPINNER... lol... and using my jet and that H back i can create this style in my offense as well... (FYI- Fly Offense is similar to this type of misdirection)
but anyways... when i get more of it finished... i will upload again and link it again in an update...

| by the way... that formation at the end... with 3 RB's up on the line... and the QB/RB taking a direct snap... is called the Beast formation and has been around for quite a while... and im thinking about changing out my Rhino for that Beast since we already run pistol and our guys will used to doing direct snaps...

| eww i dont want to be an urban meyer... i wanted to build the offense off concepts all around... so if i teach everyone 8 concepts or so... and they master those 8 things... then i can draw up literally thousands of plays and variations... and NOTHING EVER CHANGES for the players... this makes the offense complex to defend and coach against... but VERY VERY simple for the offense to run even with younger HS athletes... | on concepts like smash do you like the outside WR reading the coverage and reacting by either turning left/right/making it an out? Or do you want to keep it simple to make it easier on the qb. |

| passing concepts are never meant to be choice routes... "concepts" are built to exploit coverages... i do have that out of bunch we may use the out route but thats only due to the tighter alignment of the outside guy...
take for instance the smash route... the guy running the stop makes the CB sit... so we throw over top... when i call a smash concept it would be 361: 3 = 300 = medium passing 6 = smash concept to the right 1 = were reading the CB
and in our smash the inside WR runs to keep that safety from scraping over top... so no matter what decision the CB makes... hes going to be wrong unless its just a horrible throw
i can break all of those concepts down in their own post if you guys would like... and why they work and who the reads are...
concepts are used from HS to NFL... and if we begin to see something in coverage we throw in a tag...
say for insatnce the SS starts falling back at an angle where we dont know who to throw to the corner or the stop... next time we can tag "360 A Swing" telling the RB to swing to the flats and catch the ball... b/c our 3rd number is a "0" that means there is a "no read" we throw to the "tag route" = A Swing... we use the SS aggresiveness against him...
with concepts... your offense cant lose... and when i hot route... all of my hot routes build concepts... in NCAA 10...

| thats just "finding grass" not a choice route... depth is not a choice thats just getting open... remember my diagrams are basic as its just HS but even @ college level its still finding grass... vs quarters... but then its not a true smash by definition... or the "base" its just "finding grass"...

| That's all I meant though.
As a coach, do you want your receivers making subtle changes to the route such as turning a hitch into an out, or do you want them to not change anything no matter the coverage?
I'd imagine at the HS level you'd want it to be as simple as possible as if the WR sees one thing and the QB sees another that's what leads to those passes 10 yards away from the receiver that make the fans watching on tv go "who was he throwing too???" |

| yeah you can find grass with any concept... some will call that choice but i dont really see it as choice... but thats just me... diff coaches/player see it differently...
and youre forgetting all of the formations and alignment variations i can use that were listed... using concepts and the offense i run... i FORCE a numbers game... i put the defense into the coverage i want by formations i will use... thats why i use crazy formations...
is it easier to play 11 on 11? or 6 on 4 on the edge?
my whole entire mindset is putting my team in a quick advantage ... almost like a fast break offense...

| damn...in actuality he is correct on that concept...if u can play a certain formation on offense and make the defense adjust to you by putting people on the edge u can play a numbers game...and that's when teams get hurt when they are outta position and everyone is trying to figure out who and what to defend...nice concept Guru... i see where u coming from on this thread.... |
